Multi-Pet Grooming Bookings: Pricing Two, Three or Four Pets at One Home
For a mobile groomer, a house with three dogs is a good stop. One drive, one parking spot, one setup, and a full block of work. But multi-pet homes are also where quotes go wrong most often, because the second and third pets tend to show up only after the first price has been agreed. The PetGroomBossPro booking page asks about every pet up front.
Every Pet Gets Its Own Line
Size pricing, covered in Setting Size Prices for Toy, Small, Medium, Large and Giant Dogs on Your Booking Page, is the foundation here. When the customer picks how many pets, the page asks for each one separately: name, breed and size.
A booking can hold up to four pets. That matches the job itself, which holds up to four pets per visit. Each pet is priced on its own as the service base plus its size add-on, so a household with a Toy Poodle and a Large Labradoodle sees two different numbers adding up to the total.
A Worked Example
Using made-up numbers for a groomer's own services: full groom base $85, Small +$0, Medium +$15, Large +$30.
- Pepper, Shih Tzu, Small: $85
- Biscuit, Goldendoodle, Large: $115
- Moose, Cocker Spaniel, Medium: $100
Before add-ons and any frequency discount, the booking shows $300. The customer sees that total as they fill in the page, and the request arrives in Leads with each pet listed and the price they saw.
Should You Offer a Multi-Pet Price Break?
Some groomers like to give households with several pets a small break, because the drive and setup are shared. Others keep every pet at full price because each groom takes the same time regardless. Both are reasonable.
The booking page prices each pet from your service and size settings. If you want to reward multi-pet homes, the simplest tools are the ones you already have:
- A frequency discount for customers who choose a repeat schedule, which most multi-pet homes do anyway.
- A minimum set with single-pet stops in mind, which makes multi-pet homes look better by comparison without changing their price.
- An estimate for larger households, where you can adjust line items by hand.
Mixed Households: Dogs and Cats
Plenty of homes have a dog and a cat. Each pet on a PetGroomBossPro job is marked Dog or Cat, and your cat services can have their own base price. A customer can book a dog groom and ask about the cat in the same request, or you can quote the cat separately once you have confirmed the visit. Cats on the booking page get their own article: Cats on the Booking Page: Letting Customers Book Cat Grooms and Lion Cuts Online.
Five or More Pets
Every so often you get the house with six dogs, or a breeder, or a rescue. A booking can only hold four pets, and that is a reasonable place to draw the line. Households bigger than that usually need a conversation anyway: which pets every visit, which ones every other visit, how long the van will be in the driveway.
For those, send an estimate built from your service list. The customer approves it online and the approved estimate becomes the job. You can also split the work across two visits, each with up to four pets.
The Pets Follow the Client
Once you confirm and book a multi-pet home, the pets are saved on the job. Each one has its name, Dog or Cat, breed, size, coat, rabies due date and a notes line for the cut and behavior: “#7 blade body, teddy bear face” for one, “nervous with the dryer” for another. Add-ons are ticked per job.
On repeat visits, the next visit at that home fills in from the last one, so nobody re-types three dogs and their cuts every six weeks. In the van, the groomer app shows each pet on the appointment card, and the grooming checklist runs for each pet separately: coat and skin checked on arrival, brushed out, bath and conditioner, blow dry, haircut, nails, ears and the rest.
Billing a Multi-Pet Visit
When the groomer taps Complete, the invoice is created for the visit and the card on file can be charged. The customer pays once for the whole household, not once per dog. If they want to leave a tip, the customer app lets them add one on the paid invoice.
