Raising Grooming Prices: Updating the Booking Page, Estimates and Recurring Clients

Product costs go up. Fuel goes up. Your skills get better and your schedule fills. At some point every groomer raises prices. The hard part is usually not the decision; it is making sure the new prices show up everywhere at once, and that existing clients hear about it from you before they see it on an invoice.

Where Your Prices Live

Existing clients, covered in Should Existing Clients Use the Booking Page? Repeat Customers, Requests and the Customer App, reach you through repeat schedules, the customer app and sometimes the booking page. A price change touches all of those.

In PetGroomBossPro, prices live in a few places:

A clean price change updates each of these on purpose.

Step One: Decide What Changes

Before touching any settings, write down the changes. Is it the base price on full grooms only? A higher Giant size add-on? A new minimum? A change to frequency discounts? Raising one thing at a time is easier to explain than changing everything at once.

Think about who each change affects. A higher minimum mostly touches nail-trim-only customers. A bigger Giant add-on touches a handful of big-dog households. A higher full groom base touches almost everyone. Knowing that helps you decide who needs a personal message and who will be fine with a general note.

This is also a good moment to look back at how your prices have been working. Leads shows every booking request with the price the customer saw, so you can see which services and sizes come in most often. The pricing basics are in Pricing Your Grooming Services So the Quote Holds Up in the Driveway.

Step Two: Tell Existing Clients First

Clients on a repeat schedule should hear about a price change from you, ahead of time, in plain words. A short message works:

Two-way texting from the office lets you send the message and handle replies in one place. Automated emails can carry a longer version if you prefer. Give clients a reasonable amount of notice; how much is your call.

Step Three: Update the Booking Page

On the start date, update the booking page settings. Once changed, every new customer sees the new price instantly. Requests already in Leads keep the price the customer was shown when they sent it, so you can decide whether to honor older quotes. Many groomers honor any request that came in before the change.

After updating, test a few pretend bookings on your own page to make sure the totals look right.

Step Four: Update the Service List and Templates

Estimates use your service list, so update those prices at the same time. Then open each estimate template and check it still quotes the way you want. A template for the matted first visit or the monthly pet day may have line prices or wording that needs a refresh.

Estimates already sent and approved stay at the approved price. Estimates sent but not yet approved are worth a look: decide whether to honor them or send an updated one.

Step Five: Update Recurring Clients

The Recurring Clients list lets you change the price for upcoming visits on each repeat schedule. That is the step that actually changes what your regulars pay. Visits already completed are not affected; upcoming visits use the new price.

You can also change the van, day or time there if the price change comes with other adjustments. If a client decides to switch frequency instead, say from every 4 weeks to every 6, change that too, and update the price to match any frequency discount you offer.

Step Six: Watch the First Few Weeks

After a price change, watch for anything that looks off. An invoice that still shows the old price means a recurring schedule was missed. A booking request that seems too low means a setting did not save. Most of these are easy to fix if you catch them early.

A good check is to open the Recurring Clients list a week after the change and scan the prices. Any schedule still showing the old number stands out quickly, and fixing it there corrects every upcoming visit at once.

Pay attention to client feedback too. A few questions are normal. If a particular change gets a lot of pushback, it may be worth revisiting.
