Online Booking for Mobile Pet Groomers: The Complete Guide to Instant Prices, Booking Requests and Quotes
Most new grooming customers start the same way. They find you, they message you, and they ask what it costs. For a mobile groomer working out of a van, every one of those messages is a small interruption in the middle of a groom, and every slow reply is a customer who might book somebody else. Online booking is how you answer the price question without stopping, and how you collect what you need to book the visit in one go.
Why Booking and Quoting Belong Together
This guide is the starting point for the PetGroomBossPro pet grooming booking software section. Every other article in the series covers one piece in more detail. Here is the whole picture.
A grooming price is never a single number. It depends on the service, the size of each pet, how many pets live at the house, how often you come back and which extras the customer wants. That is why “How much for a groom?” usually turns into four or five messages. What breed? How big? Just the one dog? Every six weeks or a one-time visit? Nails too?
PetGroomBossPro handles this in two ways. The booking page answers the common questions with your own prices, instantly, for the customers who fit your standard services. Estimates handle everything else: the jobs that need a closer look, a bigger house of pets or a monthly account. Both end up in the same place, as a client with pets, a schedule and a price.
The Book Now Page
Every PetGroomBossPro account has a Book Now page with its own link. You put that link anywhere customers find you: your website, your Google Business Profile, your social bios, and the bottom of your text replies.
On the page, the customer works through a short set of choices:
- A service. Full groom, bath & brush, cat groom, puppy intro groom, nail trim, de-shedding, whatever you have set up.
- How many pets. Up to four per booking.
- Each pet. Name, breed and size: Toy, Small, Medium, Large or Giant.
- How often. One time, or a repeat schedule, with an optional discount you set for repeat clients.
- Add-ons. Teeth brushing, nail grinding, de-shed treatment, blueberry facial, ear cleaning and any others you offer.
- A preferred day and time of day. So you know when they would like you to come.
As they pick, the price appears. Nobody has to wait for you to finish a groom and reply.
How the Instant Price Is Built
The price on the booking page comes entirely from numbers you set. There is no guessing involved. You set:
- A base price for each service, such as $85 for a full groom on a small dog.
- A price add-on per size, such as +$30 for a large dog, applied to each pet.
- A minimum, so no booking comes in below what a stop is worth to you.
- A frequency discount for customers who pick a repeat schedule, if you want to offer one.
- Add-on prices, such as $15 for teeth brushing or $20 for a nail trim.
Each pet is priced on its own: the service base plus that pet's size add-on. Add-ons go on top. The discount applies if they chose a repeat schedule, and the minimum makes sure the total never drops below your floor. The details, with worked examples, are in How the Instant Price Works on a Grooming Booking Page: Service Base, Size Add-On and Minimum.
You can also add a short note under the price. Many groomers use it for the obvious caveat: heavy matting may cost extra, and the final price is confirmed on the day.
A Request, Not an Instant Calendar Slot
It is worth being plain about this, because it shapes how you run your day. The booking page sends a booking request. It does not drop the customer straight into an open slot on your calendar.
For a mobile groomer, that is usually the right call. Where the house is matters as much as when. A request on the far side of your service area on a day you are working the other side of town is not a slot you want filled automatically. So the request comes to you, and you decide.
Each booking lands in Leads with everything the customer picked: the service, each pet's name, breed and size, the frequency, the add-ons, the preferred day and time of day, and the price they saw. You also get an email, so you know a new request came in even if you are not looking at the office screen. Then you call or text to confirm the time and book them.
Estimates for Everything Else
The booking page covers the standard jobs. Some jobs are not standard. A doodle that has not seen a groomer in months. A house with four giant breeds. A senior living community that wants a pet day every month. For those, you send an estimate.
Estimates in PetGroomBossPro are built from your own service list, so the prices match everything else you charge. You send it, and the customer approves it online. Once approved, the estimate becomes the job, with the pet details carried onto it. If the customer goes quiet, estimate follow-up emails remind them, and templates save you from building the same quote from scratch every week.
There are also two forms for your website. The request form catches general inquiries that do not fit the booking page. The sign-up form lets a new customer sign up and put a card on file. Both land in Form Responses, and one click converts a sign-up into a client.
From First Booking to Repeat Client
Most grooming businesses run on repeat clients: dogs on a 4, 6 or 8-week schedule, cats a few times a year, a monthly account or two. The booking page is often the first step toward one of those.
When a customer picks a repeat schedule on the booking page, you can set them up with Add Recurring Grooming once you have confirmed the time. That books them on the same weekday, time and van every 4, 6 or 8 weeks, monthly or on custom days. Every visit is written up front and waits on Pending Jobs with its planned day, time and van until you confirm it.
The pets travel with them. Each job holds the pets at that home with breed, size, coat, rabies due date and a notes line for the cut and behavior. The next visit fills in from the last one, so nobody re-types the pets or the cut.
The Rest of This Guide Series
The articles that follow go deeper on each piece: where to put the Book Now link, setting size prices, multi-pet bookings, frequency discounts, add-ons, the note under the price, the Leads list, confirming requests, turning bookings into repeat clients, cats and puppies, quoting by phone or text, estimates, follow-ups, templates, forms, pricing your services and quoting the harder jobs like matted dogs, giant breeds and monthly accounts. The last one covers what to check when choosing booking software.
