Cats on the Groomer App: Cat Grooms, Lion Cuts and Notes That Keep Visits Calm

For a lot of cat owners, mobile grooming is the only kind that sounds possible. No car ride, no carrier fight in the parking lot, no barking dogs in a waiting room. For a groomer who takes cats, that is a real draw for customers. For the software, it means cats need to sit on the card as first-class pets, not as a dog with a note that says “actually a cat.”

Cats Are Pets on the Card

The previous article, A New Pet at a Regular Home: Adding a Dog or Cat in the Groomer App, touched on adding a cat to a dog home. Here is the whole picture. In PetGroomBossPro, every pet is marked Dog or Cat. A cat gets the same fields as a dog:

At a home with dogs and cats, the card shows each pet in its own block, clearly marked, so the groomer knows exactly what is waiting.

Cat Services on Your Service List

The services are yours to set up. Grooming businesses that take cats typically offer some mix of:

On the online booking page, a customer picks the service, how many pets and each pet's details, and sees a price based on what you set. Cat services can have their own base prices, separate from dog grooms.

Notes Matter Even More for Cats

Every cat has its own opinions about grooming, and a good note for the next visit is valuable. Notes in the style groomers already use:

These are records of what this groomer saw with this cat, so the next groomer can plan. How to handle any particular cat is the groomer's professional judgment. Behavior notes are covered in Behavior Notes in the Groomer App: Writing Down the Dryer-Shy Dog Before the Next Visit.

Van Notes for Cat Homes

Handover is different with cats. Cats are not walked out on a leash. The van notes for a cat home might say “cat will be in the carrier by the front door” or “owner brings her to the van.” The arrived text helps here: an owner who gets it can find the cat before the groomer is waiting at the door.

If the cat cannot be found, the groomer taps Skip with a note, and the office can rebook. It happens, and a note makes the follow-up easy.

The Checklist Works for Cats Too

The per-pet grooming checklist applies to cats the same way. A lion cut ticks the haircut; a bath and brush-out ticks the bath, dry and brush-out items; a nail trim ticks nails. The groomer ticks what was done, plus any add-ons, and writes a note for the customer: “Mats on the belly were tight, kept her short there.”

The office can print a Grooming Report for the cat's owner, the same way as for dogs.

Scheduling Cats Around Dogs

Some groomers like to do cats at a particular time of day, or at the start of a visit at a mixed home. With set appointment times on every card and the pets listed in each visit, the office can plan around those preferences on the Scheduled list. Repeat cat grooms can be booked on whatever schedule the owner chooses: every 6 or 8 weeks, monthly or on custom days, using the same Add Recurring Grooming tool.

Cats also fit the online booking page. A customer requesting a cat groom picks the service, enters the cat's name, breed and size, picks any add-ons and sees the price you set. The request lands in Leads with all of that, so when the office confirms the first appointment, the cat is already on the card with its details.

One App for Both

A groomer who takes cats does not need a second system. Dogs and cats sit on the same card, with the same fields, the same checklist and the same invoice. For the rest of the groomer app, visit the PetGroomBossPro dog grooming app page.

Cats and Dogs on the Same Card

PetGroomBossPro marks each pet Dog or Cat, with its own breed, size, coat and notes, so cat grooms and lion cuts sit on the same card as the dogs.
